Welcome
The Chorus of the Plains is a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The Barbershop Harmony Society is a four-part acapella singing organization. The Lead is the melody line, harmonized by the other three parts. The Bass, being the bottom part. The Tenor sings above the Lead, which is unique to this style of music. These three parts paint the picture for the overll harmony of the melody. The Baritone puts the ‘color’ in the harmony. The barbershop style uses the dominant 7th sound, where most choral music uses the triad sound.
The Chorus of the Plains meets at at 3rd and Hastings Ave, in the 6th floor ballroom of The Kensington, in Hastings, Nebraska. We invite all men from ages 12 to 90 to visit our rehearsals on Monday night from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
